Computed Tomography Technologist

Summary:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will engage in a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, supporting fellow imaging technologists while ensuring an efficient patient flow. Flexibility is essential, as the CT Technologist may need to work different shifts or at various campuses as required. The role involves troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, and resolving issues related to image processing and archiving. Continuous education, safety compliance, and embracing technical advancements within the scope of licensure are expected. Adherence to imaging competencies set by management is crucial, and behavior that reflects the organization's mission, values, and culture is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain professional conduct in accordance with Administrative and Departmental policies, including appropriate demeanor, attire, attendance, confidentiality, and reliability.
• Encourage staff development and engagement by collaborating with management, coworkers, and physicians to foster an optimal work environment.
• Enhance physician satisfaction by effectively assisting radiologists and referring physicians.
• Conduct all tasks while protecting patient confidentiality and refraining from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job duties.
• Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to align with the unique needs of each patient, including physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-specific considerations.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards outlined by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and applicable regulatory entities.
• Perform examinations and procedures as needed to support patient throughput within the scope of licensure and documented competencies.
• Demonstrate flexibility by taking on different shifts and working at various campuses as required.
• Ensure all completed exams are properly scanned and stored in the PACS system.
• Act as a PACS Superuser, following downtime procedures and escalating any issues to the PACS administrator or designated personnel.
• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager or Biomedical personnel, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Skills:

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an approved equivalent is required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) is required.
• ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas State Licensure (MRT) is required.
• BLS certification is required.
