Compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Full Time/PRN

Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking dedicated and caring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to enhance our dynamic healthcare team.

Baptist Health Urgent Care operates 23 convenient walk-in centers in Arkansas, affiliated with Urgent Team, a leading independent provider of urgent and family care across the Southeast. Together, we deliver quality and affordable healthcare services at over 80 locations under eight recognizable brands.

Our centers provide comprehensive healthcare services, including treatment for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. We are open seven days a week with flexible hours to accommodate our patients:
Mon. - Fri.: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Please note, Fort Smith-Northside location operates from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. on weekends. All locations are Accredited Care Centers, highlighting our commitment to safety and quality of service.

JOB SUMMARY:
As an LPN, you will greet patients, activate patient files, and provide essential support to both patients and medical staff. Full-time team members will typically work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, including 12-hour shifts during the weekdays and every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members will be scheduled as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Below are the main responsibilities associated with this position; additional duties may be assigned:

• Greet patients and prepare them for examinations or procedures.
• Record patient health histories and identify abnormal conditions for the physician.
• Instruct patients on the collection of samples and required tests.
• Obtain vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms.
• Assist in the preparation of medical supplies and equipment, helping physicians during treatments and examinations.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections in accordance with nursing standards.
• Monitor and report patients’ conditions and reactions to treatments to physicians.
• Ensure timely and accurate entries in patient charts and maintain updated patient records.
• Assist in scheduling tests and treatments and manage referrals to specialists as directed.
• Collect and document lab specimens and follow up on lab test results.
• Communicate test results and follow-up appointment details to patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock examination and treatment rooms.
• Follow infection control policies when handling waste materials.
• Provide discharge instructions and medication counseling to patients and families.
• Assist physicians with physical exams and preparations.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription orders and ensure accurate inventory management.
• Respond to phone inquiries and triage patient needs to ensure efficient departmental flow.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A degree from an accredited practical nursing program.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a clinical or hospital setting (preferred).
- A valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
