Commercial Driver

Join Our Team at El Dorado Disposal! El Dorado Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a dedicated and safety-minded CDL Driver to come aboard. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and engaging in a physically demanding job.

Competitive Starting Pay: $27.00 per hour . The pay scale for this position ranges between $27.00 to $32.00 per hour.

Your schedule will be Monday-Friday starting at either 3:30am or 4:30am , depending on your assigned line of business (Commercial, Residential, Roll-Off). Occasional Saturdays might be required, and this is a full-time opportunity.

Your Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a garbage truck along designated routes to collect solid waste. Experience in waste management is preferred, but not required.

• Read and follow route sheets to service each customer listed for the day.

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids and safety equipment.

• Perform the physically intensive tasks of loading and unloading, often without assistance.

• Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of refuse at designated facilities.

• Engage courteously with customers and perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• This role requires extensive physical activity including heavy lifting and potentially strenuous tasks involving objects over 50 pounds.

• Work may involve exposure to risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring you to adhere to safety protocols.

• You will work outdoors, often in wet conditions, as well as be exposed to fumes and vibrations in a usually moderate noise environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement is required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• At least 1 year of related experience preferred.

• Basic knowledge of truck components to carry out pre- and post-trip inspections.
