CNC Machining Programmer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machining Programmer to join our machining department. The CNC Machining Programmer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and updating CNC programs to manufacture parts with precision. This role involves close collaboration with various departments such as Engineering and Quality, as well as providing technical support to the shop floor.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Developing and optimizing CNC programs using CAD/CAM technology.
• Analyzing drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimensions and configurations for machining.
• Selecting appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Establishing reference points and machine cutting paths.
• Creating and maintaining detailed setup and tooling sheets.
• Managing and controlling tooling lists for all machines.
• Ensuring CNC programs are prepared to meet production schedules.
• Writing detailed work instructions and cutter lists for machine setup and operation.
• Revising programs to correct any errors or omissions.
• Verifying the accuracy of programs by observing initial machine operations.
• Providing ongoing technical support to the shop floor.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department efficiency.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of two years of CAD/CAM experience, with proficiency in MasterCam preferred.
• Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and machining methodologies.
• Experience with Solidworks is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of mill processes, including multi-axis applications.
• Fluency in using industry-standard controllers such as Fanuc, and Heidenhain.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve issues and meet requirements.
• Technical degree preferred.
