Clinical Support Technician I - Night Shift

As a Clinical Support Technician I, you will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. This position involves transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, as well as performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks essential for the smooth operation of the patient care unit.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist physicians and healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures, and help procure necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Critically review patient care documentation, noting significant changes in patients' conditions, and promptly report these to registered nurses or physicians.
3. Perform various clerical tasks, such as organizing workloads, greeting visitors, conducting research as requested, reviewing and revising orders for clarity, transcribing physician orders, answering calls, and maintaining medical records. Engage in routine quality assurance audits and ensure safety checks and inventory management are conducted.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing tasks like cleaning the workspace, checking and restocking supplies, and troubleshooting basic software and hardware issues. Assist in orienting new employees and students.
5. Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in care plans, which may include bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. Record vital signs and assist with tasks such as specimen collection and simple wound care.
6. Help reinforce educational instructions given to patients by registered nurses or physicians, documenting patient understanding and distributing educational materials as needed.

Additional Information:

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Must be listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

Experience Requirements: No prior experience is necessary.

Skills/Abilities Requirements: Fluency in verbal and written English is essential, as well as the ability to develop computer skills if not already proficient.
