Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse III plays a vital role in the care of surgical patients by assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing their needs throughout their surgical journey. As a patient advocate, you will provide support during surgical procedures while ensuring high standards of patient care are met in collaboration with a dedicated caregiving team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders and administer medications within the sterile field while documenting as per policies and regulations.
• Assess and continuously evaluate patient needs and responses to provided care.
• Utilize sound nursing judgment in making patient care management decisions.
• Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
• Act as an advocate for patients within the surgical environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree preferred.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; CNOR certification is preferred.
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in a surgical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving tools, with the ability to apply them for quality improvement in patient care.
