Clinical Laboratory Technologist (New York)

Duration: 3 months contract

Job Responsibilities:

Receive and label tissue specimens properly to ensure accurate identification.

Fix and process tissues by embedding them in paraffin wax for sectioning.

Cut thin sections of tissue using a microtome to prepare slides for examination.

Perform staining techniques (like H&E and special stains) to highlight tissue structures.

Prepare slides and ensure they are of high quality for pathologists to review.

Maintain and clean lab instruments such as microtomes and staining machines regularly.

Document all procedures and results accurately, maintaining proper records.

Follow laboratory safety protocols to handle specimens and chemicals safely.

Conduct quality control checks to ensure reagents and equipment function properly.

Experience:

• 1 year Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience.
• Histology background required

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (092) issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required. BLS preferred.

Education:

Associate degree or Bachelor's degree
