Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Department: Laboratory Services

Location: Massena Hospital

Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hours

Schedule: 8 hour shifts

SUMMARY:

Join our dedicated medical team as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, where you will play a vital role in our laboratory services. Your expertise will help in performing critical analyses on blood, urine, body fluids, and tissues. Utilizing state-of-the-art instruments and methods, you will assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment while ensuring adherence to department protocols and regulatory requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct testing accurately and in a timely manner.
• Interpret clinical test results, correlating them with patient history and clinical conditions.
• Communicate urgent lab results and any instrument issues to the healthcare team.
• Perform quality control, routine maintenance, and troubleshoot instruments.
• Prepare reagents and manage inventory with cost-awareness.
• Utilize required computer systems for ordering and managing tests.
• Provide teaching support in the School of Medical Technology as needed.
• Consistently meet all regulatory lab requirements.
• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• New York State Department of Education License, Provisional Permit, or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Medical Technology or a related Science.
• Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medium work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $33.75 - $45.00
