Responsibilities

UPC is currently seeking a caring and detail-oriented healthcare professional to join our team as a Clinic Nurse . We welcome applicants who are Registered Nurses (RNs) , Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) , or Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) . The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, support providers with clinical tasks and procedures, and help ensure efficient daily clinic operations. • Greet and room patients; obtain vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit

n

• Administer medications and vaccinations as ordered by the provider

n

• Assist with in-office procedures and exams

n

• Accurately document all patient interactions and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR)

n

• Provide patient education on medications, care plans, and health promotion

n

• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use

n

• Support the provider team in delivering coordinated, high-quality care

n

• Perform basic clerical tasks such as scheduling, call-backs, and managing referrals

n

Qualifications

n

• Valid and current licensure/certification in the state of Iowa as one of the following:

  n
  n

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing

  n

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Iowa Board of Nursing

  n

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, NHA or AMT)

  n
n

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification  

n

• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred

n

• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

n

• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, etc.) and basic computer skills

n

• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
