Class A Transfer Truck Driver

Ukiah Waste Solutions , a Waste Connections company, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Driver to support our team with local routes! Join us in Ukiah, CA!

Enjoy a stable schedule with shifts from Monday to Friday, starting at 4 AM , typically lasting 8-10 hours. Some Saturdays may be required based on operational needs.

The starting pay is $25.00 per hour , with a pay range of $25-$28 per hour depending on your experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a transfer truck on assigned routes.
• Efficiently read route sheets and serve each customer as directed by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, including fluid levels, safety equipment, and tires.
• Engage in physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, potentially without assistance.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Exposure to physical risks due to moving mechanical parts, necessitating adherence to basic safety protocols.
• Outside work conditions include exposure to varying weather conditions, humidity, fumes, and vibrations. Noise levels are typically moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A CDL with an air brakes endorsement is required.
• A clean driving record is essential.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is needed.
