Job Summary

Talon Logistics, the transportation division of Giant Eagle, is essential in ensuring our shelves are stocked with the high-quality products our guests expect. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will play a crucial role in the safe and accurate delivery of products using tractor trailers.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of driving experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and at least 1 year of Class A CDL driving experience required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no commercial DUI/DWI on record, and no personal DUI/DWI within the last 5 years.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Travel: Regional, with daily travel requirements exceeding 50%.
• Age Requirement: At least 21 years old.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the dock door and trailer are secure before unloading.
• Adapt to flexible scheduling and be available for various shifts and overtime as needed.
• Meet established productivity standards and adhere to all safety protocols.
• Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the job.
• Follow food safety procedures rigorously.
• Communicate effectively with store personnel and provide outstanding customer service.
• Perform safety checks on equipment, including trailer temperature checks.
• Assist in loading and unloading using pallet jacks, ensuring adherence to proper procedures.

Starting Pay Rate : $20.50
