Claims Assistant

A long standing insurance organization in Westchester County is actively seeking a dedicated and analytical professional to join their staff as a Claims Assistant. This is long term temporary engagment, with a possibility of conversion, offering a hybrid weekly schedule and traditional business hours of 8:30am-5:30pm or 9:00am-6:00pm.

About the opportunity

Our global claims team is an integral component of the underwriting process. Dedicated claims representatives are assigned to each account at the start of the underwriting partnership, before a claim is reported. We believe this approach is critical not only to ensure efficient and responsive claims processing for each client, but also to provide valuable insights to our clients and underwriters on trends and emerging risks to support pricing; reserving and risk management initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting the senior staff in review of claim files, including but not limited to coverage analysis, setting up of initial notices, sending out acknowledgment letters to clients
• Ability to establish priorities, anticipate problems, know and communicate the status of assignments to involved parties
• Use time effectively to meet deadlines/commitment
• Provide a consistent & high-quality level of claims service to our internal / external clients.
• Ability to complete tasks associated with claim analysis in timely and accurate manner.
• Work effectively with Claims Assistant to ensure that data in ClaimCenter and ImageRight is consistent.
• Ensure there are no backlogs in processing reserves or payment transactions.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential; Sense of urgency required.
• Computer skill including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong problem solving and decision making abilities; Strong work ethic & energetic
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to assist on special project is essential
• Must be self-motivated, analytical, inquisitive, and should be organized with attention paid to detail.
