Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer Job Description

In this role, you will assist property owners in solving problems and understanding building and site improvements through forensic site inspections, technical reports, and repair/construction design.

Responsibilities

  Perform on-site field investigations and structural assessments of existing homes, buildings, or structures.

  Complete forensic structural engineering evaluations and reports.

  Perform residential and commercial structural design.

  n

• n

  Work on construction administration projects.

  n

• n

  Effectively and professionally communicate in writing and verbally with clients, including homeowners, property owners, contractors, engineers, and architects.

  Travel to inspection sites, both residential and commercial.

  n
n

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program, preferably with a structural engineering focus.

  n

• n

  Minimum five years of structural engineering experience.

  n
n
• n

  Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain one within six months.

  n
n
• n

  Proven technical writing and report writing skills.

  n
n
• n

  Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients daily.

  n

• n

  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

  n
n
• n

  Willingness to perform crawl space, attic, basement, and roof inspections, with the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance.

  Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  n

• n

  Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• n

  Experience in civil engineering, land development, structural analysis, and design.

• n

  Knowledge of structural forensics, erosion control, water resources, stormwater design, and stormwater drainage.

Work Environment

This position involves a dynamic work environment with 50% of the time spent on-site conducting inspections and 50% dedicated to report writing. The team values a collaborative and decentralized leadership structure, empowering team members to make decisions autonomously. Dress code and attire adhere to professional standards suitable for both office and site visits.
