Civil/Environmental Project Engineer

Job Description
The Terracon South Central Region (KS/MO) is currently looking to add a Civil/Environmental Project Engineer to work out of one of the regional offices (Lenexa, Manhattan, Topeka, or Wichita, Kansas; Columbia or St. Louis, Missouri).
Projects will include landfill permitting, design, and construction quality assurance, site investigation and remediation, and regulatory compliance. Terracon is supportive of professional development, so there will be plenty of training opportunities, and we'll also help you stay current on all certifications and registrations.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of environmental projects and clients. You will prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets and provide recommendations, apply sound engineering principles, and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:
* Safety is key at Terracon, so we require someone who is dedicated to following our safety policies and practices and lead safety efforts by example
* Produce a quality product for the client by performing quality control checks and ensuring consistent quality standards on all projects and proposals
* Manage mid- to large-sized projects
* Maintain excellent communication with your client and manager to ensure they are kept informed on project status
* Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity
* Perform quality control reviews of proposals authored by others
* Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports
* Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members
* Interact directly with the client and project team on the development of the scope of services, as well as thoroughly communicating project progress, findings, and recommendations.
* Author and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations
* Participate in marketing and business development and adhere to our strong client experience standards
* Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
* Minimum 5-8 years' experience
* Professional Engineer (PE) registration for Kansas and/or Missouri or ability to obtain PE through reciprocity
* Understanding of state environmental regulations
* 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred)
* Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
