Civil Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will utilize Civil 3D to design grading/earthwork, erosion control, stormwater pollution prevention plans, stormwater design, and pavement design. Your role includes preparing engineering analyses, designs, and calculations for site development projects, and assisting in project management tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and design review. Occasional site visits for field inspection may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create designs using Civil 3D for grading, erosion control, and stormwater pollution prevention.
• Prepare detailed engineering analyses, designs, and calculations for site development.
• Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and design review.
• Conduct site visits for field inspections as needed.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 2-5+ years of experience in site development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in land development and stormwater design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with state and local regulatory agencies.
• Strong interpersonal skills for public interaction and conflict resolution.
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment

The company offers a hybrid work model, requiring new hires to work three days per week in the office initially, with the option of 2-3 remote days for experienced staff. The office is based in Warrenville, IL, with another location in Champaign, IL. The organizational structure is flat, providing mentorship opportunities from shareholder/principals. The land development team comprises 8-9 individuals. Fully remote work is possible for the right candidate with a Professional Engineer (PE) license, as exemplified by current team members in New York and South Carolina.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warrenville, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
