Child Psychologist and Intake Assessment Coordinator

Job Summary: Join our dedicated team as a Child Psychologist and Intake Assessment Coordinator, providing vital mental health assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and crisis intervention services for children and their families. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized treatment programs tailored to each individual's needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with mental health needs. Participate in staff conferences for planning and evaluation and provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups.
• Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration and interpretation. Prepare intake summaries and treatment plans while maintaining confidential records according to state regulations.
• Work with physicians to evaluate patients for psychotropic medications. Utilize resources from community organizations to support treatment needs and provide consultation on mental health matters.
• Supervise psychology interns and trainees as needed. Provide support to families, including treatment explanations and compliance education.
• Utilize community resources for referrals to meet treatment needs. Participate in program development and evaluation within the department.
• Report safety concerns to the appropriate agencies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience: N/A

• Education: PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.

• License, Certification, Registration: Psychologist License (California) required within 6 months of hire. National Provider Identifier needed at hire.

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with DSM-V for diagnosis.
• Experience assessing and treating a range of psychiatric conditions.
• Ability to participate in the department's on-call rotation.
• Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices and psychotherapy research methods.
• Understanding of bio-psycho-social factors affecting mental health.
• Accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Competence in various therapeutic modalities.
• Demonstrated ethical integrity and professional maturity.
• Commitment to quality service and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and confidentiality standards.
• Experience with psychological testing and crisis intervention.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• If not licensed in CA at hiring, must be licensed in another U.S. state and able to practice under Section 2946 of the Business and Professional Code (maximum of 180 days).
• Willingness to work within a Labor/Management Partnership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy.
• Experience in psychological evaluations of diverse populations, including children and families.
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and quality service.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Accuracy in diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
• Competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Location: Pleasanton Hopyard Psychiatry, California
Hours: 40 per week
Shift: Day - Mon through Sat, 07:00 AM to 08:00 PM
