Essential Functions of the Child Life Specialist:

• Assess patients to identify their psychosocial, financial, and environmental needs.
• Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of Child Life Specialist needs.
• Communicate significant findings and changes in patient conditions to the care team.
• Report unsafe conditions appropriately and implement patient safety plans.
• Participate in the development of the Plan of Care for quality and continuity of care.
• Provide skilled services/interventions in accordance with accepted standards and the patient's needs.
• Involve patients and families in understanding and following the Plan of Care.
• Ensure continuity of quality patient care and maintain open communication with the clinical team.

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and CCLS certification from the Child Life Council.
• LICENSURE: Current CCLS certification.
• EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of Child Life Specialist experience in a healthcare setting.
• REQUIRED: Reliable transportation and the ability to perform physical tasks as necessary.
