Summary:
The Certified Outpatient Pharmacy Technician provides crucial support to the pharmacist by managing medication orders and improving patient care. All tasks are completed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

This role is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, featuring a total of $5000 in commitment incentives distributed over two years, rewarding you at six months, one year, and two years of service.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive, review, and accurately process medication orders from prescribers under pharmacist supervision, ensuring timely care for patients.
2. Assist in training new team members in job-specific duties.
3. Support Medication Therapy Management, Medsync, and various clinical outreach initiatives.
4. Select and prepare various forms of medications (oral, topical, controlled substances) as authorized by a physician, under pharmacist oversight.
5. Prepare medications for pick-up, delivery, or shipping, and appropriately restock unpurchased medications.
6. Resolve patient payment issues, including prior authorizations and assistance applications, while managing cash and processing payments accurately.
7. Respond to and triage customer requests for pharmacy services that do not necessitate a pharmacist’s expertise.
8. Operate automated dispensing technology, ensuring accurate medication supply for patients in accordance with orders.
9. Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates of supplies.
10. Contribute to process improvement projects to enhance pharmacy operations.

Education Requirements:
None required if qualifications are met.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program. CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is also required, unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Professional Experience Requirements:
Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining patient safety and service quality.

Job Details:
This position is employed by NC Health, a private subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, located at UNC Specialty and Home Delivery Pharmacy Morrisville. This is a full-time role with a standard workload of 40 hours per week, available at a salary range of $17.94 - $25.25 per hour based on experience and internal equity.

Location: US:NC:Morrisville
