Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

This is a full-time position at a provider-owned ambulatory surgery center with competitive wages and benefits. The position is Monday - Friday with no call and no weekends.

Job Summary

Prepares instruments and supplies to perform surgical procedures. Assists the surgeon during the operative procedures. Maintains safe and appropriate utilization of supplies and equipment. Assists with inventory management for surgery and anesthesia supplies. Performs central processing functions.

Relationships

Reports to: Director

Receives guidance from Registered Nurses and Physicians.

Essential Functions And Objectives

• Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the organization.
• Contributes to the progress and development of the Quality and Risk Management Program.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Supports and maintains individual and team professional competence.
• Adheres to Patient Care and Treatment Policies/Procedures.
• Performs operating room scrub assistant functions following principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating room procedures.
• Adheres to accepted sterilization/processing policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with other team members to maintain accurate surgical and anesthesia inventory levels and records.

Qualification

Graduation from a two-year surgical tech program. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist on hire or within 6 months.

Experience in a "scrub" role in a multi-specialty surgical environment is preferred. We are willing to train a new graduate.

Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles is required

Some prior experience with hospital computer systems or data entry is preferred
