Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to residents during their stay in long-term care. As a caregiver, you will deliver compassionate, resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). This position requires knowledge of age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological well-being of residents, as outlined in their care plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing daily living assistance such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and support with toileting.
• Obtaining and recording vital signs and other health-related data.
• Assisting residents in mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and walking safely.
• Supporting residents with meals and snacks, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Documenting interactions and significant changes in residents' conditions for the nursing team.
• Helping maintain a clean and safe living environment through housekeeping and laundry services.
• Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 16. Previous experience in long-term care is a plus.
• Must have or obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification within four months of employment, with training provided by the facility.
• Completion of annual continuing education and competency testing required.
• May need to meet specific driving qualifications, depending on facility policies.
