Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays an essential role in providing compassionate care to residents in a long-term care setting. Your duties will include:

Delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Assisting residents with daily activities like bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing.
Monitoring vital signs and providing psychosocial support.
Facilitating safe transfers, repositioning, and walking for residents, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Ensuring a positive dining experience by assisting residents with meals.
Documenting resident interactions and communicating any changes in condition to nursing staff.
Participating in wellness and recreational programs and encouraging resident engagement.
Maintaining cleanliness in living areas, providing light housekeeping, and laundry services.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum age of 16 years old required. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
Must possess or be in the process of obtaining CNA certification within four months of entering the position.
Completion of annual competency testing and 12 hours of continuing education annually are required.
May require certification with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry depending on state regulations.
