Summary:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed Nurse. Your role will involve assisting with routine patient care activities and performing various clerical and organizational tasks to enhance patient experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Exhibit the core competencies of OneCHRISTUS: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges effectively.
• Complete relevant documentation accurately.
• Prepare patient rooms by setting up IV pots and adjusting beds to ensure comfort.
• Ensure all patients' belongings are securely transported during discharges.
• Safely transport stable patients as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and security while interacting with patients and their families.
• Procure and return necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness.
• Run errands for the nursing unit as directed.
• Assist licensed personnel in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment by replenishing supplies like water, linen, and towels.
• Perform unit-specific patient care tasks according to established guidelines and document activities accordingly.
• Monitor and report any noticeable changes in patients' conditions to the nurse in charge promptly.
• Assist in maintaining stock items according to established inventory standards.
• Organize unit supplies efficiently.
• React appropriately to emergencies, ensuring patient safety.
• Communicate effectively with team members across shifts to enhance care delivery.
• Respond promptly to phone calls and patient call lights.
• Adapt care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of each patient.
• Demonstrate competence in all assigned responsibilities while considering the specific needs of the patient population served.

Job Requirements:

Education and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Preferred experience in patient care within an acute care environment.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications:

• CNA License in the state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.
