Schedule: Part Time, 24 hours a week

Shift : Wednesdays 12:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursdays 12:00pm - 6:00pm and Fridays 7:30am - 5:00pm, w/1-2 Saturdays a month 7:30am - 2:15pm, off on Thursday when working a Saturday

Location: AdventHealth Allergy Asthma Bloomingdale Office - 303 E Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale

The role you'll contribute:

• Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
n

Administrative duties:

n
• n

  Use computer applications. May include, but not limited to: EMR, Microsoft Word, and Excel

  n
n
• n

  Answer telephone calls

  n
n
• n

  Update and file patient medical records

  n
n
• n

  Checking in patients

  n
n
• n

  Schedule appointments

  n
n

Clinical duties:

n
• n

  Escort patients to testing and exam rooms, measure vital signs and records all information in patient's chart

  n
n
• n

  Collect and prepare laboratory specimens

  n
n
• n

  Phlebotomy; Prepare and administer vaccinations as directed by a physician

  n
n
• n

  Explain testing to patient

  n
n
• n

  Obtain all test results for each patient, and alert physician of abnormal results

  n
n
• n

  Perform other related duties, as assigned or requested

  n
n

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  Minimum qualifications :

  n

  High school diploma or GED required

  n
n
• n

  Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:

   American Association of Medical Assistants ("AAMA") for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)

   n
n
2. n

   American Medical Technologists ("AMT") for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

   n
n
3. n

   National Center for Competency Testing ("NCCT") for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

   n
n
4. n

   National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

   n
n
5. n

   American Registry of Medical Assistants ("ARMA") for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

   n
n

n
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job
