Certified Medical Assistant-Adult Medicine

Position Summary
The Johns Hopkins Adult Medicine Clinic is a large, shared-space, multi-specialty care clinic with 2 large primary care practices, and 10 other specialty care clinics such as: Pulmonary, lung transplant, lupus, and endocrinology. The CMA's provide vital support functions, including but not limited to: Rooming, intake, care gap management, vitals, 5 different point of care tests, EKG's, vaccine and medication administration, diabetic retinopathy imaging, and support for small procedures.

Location: JHH - 601 N. Caroline Street, 7th Floor, Baltimore, MD
Hours: Days/40 (Exact Schedule to be determined by manager)
Education:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required for new medical assistants.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Successful completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA , prior to hire. Must maintain certification/ registration throughout employment.
• Valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.

Knowledge:

• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Sound documentation skills
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, basic wound care, and dressing change principles
• Knowledge of medication administration (oral and injection)
• Knowledge of patient transport and positioning techniques

Salary Range: Minimum $18.15/hour - Maximum $26.32 /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
