JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves our customers by safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse in a tractor-trailer and delivering and unloading products according to customer specifications and company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unload products from the trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions, and place them in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications.

• Complete all paperwork according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports) accurately and timely.

• Ensure all food safety protocols are met as per established guidelines and maintain sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer.

• Establish positive relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, with 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school will also be accepted.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting practices.

• Skill in driving over long distances and in varying weather conditions, communicating with customers, solving problems, and delivering products.

• Ability to perform tasks during the day and at night, meet minimum productivity levels, handle hazardous materials, and operate various types of vehicles.

• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This role requires sitting, talking, and hearing, as well as lifting and moving products weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling heavier items. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is often performed in wet, hot, or cold conditions, and the associate may be required to work in confined spaces. An overnight schedule, including possible weekends and holidays, will be necessary to meet customer needs.
