As a Driver Trainee, you'll embark on a journey to master key driver responsibilities, focusing on delivering products accurately and timely to our valued customers. You'll gain hands-on experience in warehouse operations as you transition to becoming a skilled McLane Driver.

• Training Pay: $21.00 an hour.
• Post-Training Pay: Earn between $65,000 to $80,000.

Key Responsibilities of a Driver Trainee:

• Learn to connect tractor and trailer and secure them properly.
• Operate the truck safely while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections of the tractor-trailer and file necessary reports.
• Utilize the Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) to document deliveries, product conditions, and exceptions.
• Train under an experienced Driver to learn the ins and outs of commercial driving.
• Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customers.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications Needed:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Eligible for McLane Transfer and Promotion guidelines.
• Complete training and obtain Class A CDL within 6 months.
• Willingness to handle all products ordered by McLane customers.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Skills in reading labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Basic math skills for verifying product quantities.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Safe driving skills using various equipment and onboard devices.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English well enough to follow safety protocols and job instructions.
