UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing is seeking a casual Nursing Instructor to join our expanding team. We welcome candidates with a BSN, enrollment in an MSN program with a 3-year completion plan, and 3 years of clinical experience. Final job title will reflect your education, experience, and manager discretion.

The individual hired into this role will support a weekend clinical group (every other weekend).

• Encourage critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills development.
• Engage in quality improvement projects, scholarly work, and program evaluation to enhance student performance.
• Support educational change initiatives and demonstrate leadership across nursing schools.
• Serve as a professional role model and co-chair committees as assigned.

• BSN required
• MSN program enrollment with 3-year completion plan
• 3 years of clinical practice
• Precepting experience required; clinical teaching experience in prelicensure program preferred
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Certified Nurse Educator certification preferred.
• Appointment to this position and retention of this position is contingent upon the approval of the PA State Board of Nursing.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• UPMC-approved certification, preferred.
• CPR Certification for BLS for Health Care Providers.
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
