Job Summary

Assesses the patient insurance/financial status to facilitate and assist with appropriate discharge planning. Maintains log of post hospital care referrals, provider, contacts and other relative information. Serves as communication liaison between attending psychiatrists, Social Workers, and external reviewers. Serves as the administrative support including: schedules aftercare, faxes referrals, manages docket for IVA hearings, facilitate iPad interviews with public defender, and represents hospital in IVA hearings. This position will support 3 social workers on a 23 bed unit.

Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Human Services related field and 1-3 years in healthcare environment, preferably Psychiatry.
