Job Description

We are seeking a Carpenter to assist a lead carpenter with various tasks on a construction site, including cleanup, hanging safety railings, installing hole covers, and performing other labor work.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead carpenter in rough carpentry work and general site tasks.

• Use skill saw and other power tools efficiently.

• Lead and manage a helper in completing tasks within one day.

• Maintain focus and communicate completion of tasks without supervision.

• Build handrails and cover doorways with plywood.

• Perform deck work and fix door frames and hinges.

• Read tape measures accurately.

• Own and utilize personal hand tools effectively.

• Operate provided power tools, including sawzaw, grinder, and hammer drill.

• Comply with OSHA standards for handrails and hole covers.

• Possess fall protection experience or certifications.

Essential Skills

• Construction and general labor experience.

• Carpentry skills.

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

• Ability to read tape measures.

• Knowledge of safety railings and fall protection.

• Efficient time management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

• Certified in manlift operation is advantageous.

Work Environment

You will be working on a new construction site at a large data center, with various trades present. The role involves first shift work from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday being voluntary, and requires working 9-16 hour days both outdoors and indoors without air conditioning. You will be part of a team of 20 laborers and carpenters, expected to work six days per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
