The community you'll be caring for: Adventhealth Redmond

The role you'll contribute:

Performs all types of ultrasound procedures on in-patients and outpatients. Maintains competency in ultrasound procedures performed on in-patients, outpatients, as well as emergency and operating room patients. Operates all ultrasound diagnostic equipment. Performs routine diagnostic and portable exams when needed. Transports patients, processes film, and prepares radiographic rooms with supplies and medications as needed. Reviews orders and reviews films for correct identification before submitting for a radiologists interpretation. Assists with clerical duties as needed. Participates in radiology QI or Quality Improvement program

  Assures responsibilities for the patient flow and all other matters pertaining to patient care, ensures patient and employee safety.

  Direct patient responsibility for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonatal patient care until the patient is returned to his/her room or until outpatient is discharged.

  The technologist is directly involved in a variety of ultrasound procedures including biopsies, has an extensive experience with available ultrasound equipment in terms of product evaluation, troubleshooting and quality control.

  Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other department and medical staff.

• n

  Recommends action necessary for improvement of the overall discipline and other actions regarding personnel.

  n

• n

  Evaluate the service and equipment of the department according to the department policy and procedure.

  n
n
• n

  Accepts call responsibilities in accordance with departmental policy.

• n

  Maintains acceptable standards of performance and responsibility according to department policy and procedures on a daily basis.

  Maintains workstation/area and equipment in acceptable working order and cleanliness.

• n

  If he/she is a registered RT or cross-trained in other modalities, they will be expected to work in those modalities as needed.

  The employee will be expected to participate in Performance Improvement projects as needed.

• n

  The technologist will be expected to participate in all quality control checks and follow ACR guidelines for all procedures to maintain ACR accreditation.

  The technologist will be expected to keep up all necessary continuing educational credits and requirements as stipulated by the ACR and ARDMS.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  Graduate of accredited Radiologic Program

  n
n
• n

  BLS within one month of employment

  n
n
• n

  Must pass ultrasound registry within one year of hire date if new grad

  n
n
• n

  Must possess working knowledge of ultrasound equipment and anatomy

  n
n
• n

  Radiographic experience is preferred

  n
n
• n

  Must be board eligible

  n
n
• n

  ARDMS preferred

  n
n
