Job Summary:

Performs Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) design assignments of proposed engineering and operations related projects.

Essential Functions:

• Perform basic level assignments in support of distribution operations, such as construction projects, permit applications, etc.
• Utilize basic level CAD skills to support gas operations.
• Maintain CAD standards in the development and production of construction plans and specifications.
• Assist with QA/QC process to ensure CAD production standards are maintained.
• Enter as-built, survey data, field notes, plats, legal descriptions, address information, etc. in proposed CAD construction documents.
• Extract GIS data to drawing exchange format files to be imported into CAD files as needed.
• Interpret construction designs and drawings of both existing and proposed gas distribution facilities.
• Research company archive files for project or archived data.
• Files digital/paper records, reports, and maintains current filing system.
• Assist customers and employees with basic facility information inquiries.
• Support Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) as needed/required.
• Carry out general office functions in the support of the engineering department.
• Will be assigned projects in support of CAD/GIS Department as needed.

Education:

Requires a certificate or degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university in CAD, Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or closely related field (two years of CAD work experience may be substituted for education).

Compensation: $52,233.60 to $78,350.40 Annually
CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
