As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that materials are purchased at the lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability. You will be responsible for studying market trends, interviewing vendors, and recommending sources of supply. Your expertise will be key in soliciting and analyzing quotations to meet all requirements of authorizing source documentation.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability, and urgency.
• Study market trends and interview vendors to recommend sources of supply.
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all requirements of the authorizing source documentation.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries and maintain production by expediting shipments and deliveries as needed.
• Negotiate for adjustments resulting from price analysis, discrepant materials, surplus, or obsolete materials, contract terminations, or purchase order cancellations.
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation, ensuring accurate payment of invoices.
• Develop and maintain necessary records and files for compliance purposes and support the preparation of proposal cost data.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Basic Microsoft Office application skills with an emphasis on MS Excel.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Suite.
• Strong negotiation and data entry skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• Knowledgeable in welding processes, mechanical, and custom fabrication.

Work Environment

The work environment is on-site full-time in Hunt Valley. This role offers a contract through the end of the year with the possibility of extension pending workflow. You will be working in a dynamic setting that requires the use of ERP systems and various software tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Cockeysville, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.85/hr.
