Job Description

The Building Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned properties. This includes maintaining a clean and safe working environment, conducting routine assessments, performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, painting, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

  Perform all plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks required for facility operation and maintenance.

  Service and maintain HVAC equipment such as heating systems, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAVs, and air distribution systems.

  Monitor and adjust mechanical and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal comfort within the building.

• n

  Conduct field inspections and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to maintain operational integrity.

• n

  Monitor building energy usage and support initiatives to improve efficiency.

n
• n

  Repair and maintain doors, ceilings, hand railings, floors, and other structural elements throughout the property.

• n

  Service plumbing fixtures such as toilets, urinals, flush valves, and lavatories.

  n
n
• n

  Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with building protocols and industry best practices.

  n

• n

  Inspect engine rooms, fan rooms, cooling towers, motors, pumps, electric rooms, backup generators, fire pumps, sump, and ejector pumps regularly.

  Replace lamps and fixtures, update signage, and ensure all rooms are clean and free of obstructions.

  n

• n

  Verify emergency exit signs and lighting are operational.

  n
n

Essential Skills

  Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility maintenance.

  Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment.

• n

  Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of facilities.

• n

  Competence in using system management programs.

n

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
