Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking a Building Electrical Engineer for our Industrial Building Group. As an Electrical Engineer in our team, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining company standards and tools. Kiewit's Industrial and Water Engineering Group has the ability and the responsibility to greatly influence the successful outcome of our projects. Our team is multi-faceted, with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location

This position will be based out of our Lenexa, Kansas office.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer in the Industrial Building Group, you will have a wide range of responsibilities that include:

  Developing building lighting, power and distribution designs, including minor telecom and security provisions, on various projects and building types.

  Performing Revit modeling and drawing creation, and/or coordinating with BIM staff for completion.

• n

  Completing calculations for lighting, electrical loading, short circuit, voltage drop, and energy code.

  n

• n

  Developing project building electrical specifications.

  n
n
• n

  Bid review, shop drawing review, RFI response, and construction site punch lists.

  n
n
• n

  Project coordination with others inside and outside of Industrial Building Group.

  n
n
• n

  Assisting with creating and maintaining department standards and tools.

  n
n
• n

  Providing oversight of junior engineers.

  n
n
• n

  Performing quality checks of the design and engineering of a project to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

n
• n

  Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.

  n
n
• n

  Minimum 4-10 years of relevant experience in the building industry.

  n
n
• n

  Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code, International Building Code, and energy codes.

  n
n
• n

  Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in AGi32 software or Visual a plus

  n
n
• n

  Ability to adjust to varying demands of work and perform well under pressure.

  n

• n

  Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or commitment to achieving within 6-12 months.

  n

• n

  Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  n
n
• n

  Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
