Blender Operator

The Blender Operator is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety, food security, Quality, GMP's, HAACP, Allergen protocols, and other regulations as required. This role involves certification in the operation of all blending equipment within the designated area of responsibility. The Batch Operator ensures the quality and integrity of products, maintaining customer satisfaction and adhering to company policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Transport required ingredients and pre-weighs from the staging area to the blending area.
• Monitor and incorporate push outs and Dump to Bulk (DTB) back into the system.
• Hook up hoses, pumps, and lines for bulk concentrate or juice transfers from storage tanks.
• Maintain, build, and start up filter(s) and open drums, inspecting and maintaining filter blankets.
• Program touch screen for product delivery from silo room to blend tanks.
• Follow instructions on blending sheets, add proper ingredients, and accurately record amounts.
• Obtain blend tank samples and deliver them to the quality laboratory for testing.
• Complete blending sheets and ensure their accuracy.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the area throughout the shift.
• Responsible for CIP sanitation of all blending lines, tanks, and equipment.
• Remove empty barrels and bins from batching area to outside storage area and trailers.
• Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates as needed.
• Complete sanitation and line CIP as scheduled.
• Report all non-compliance, product protection, and food safety issues to management.
• Represent the company in a positive manner at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing, production, and compounding.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, with the capacity to routinely lift 60lbs.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain batch records.
• Strong mathematical skills, including measurements and formulas.
• Knowledge of food safety, quality, GMP, and general production.
• Proficiency in blending, mixing, and chemical processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-moving packaged goods environment; beverage production experience preferred.
• Formal training in WHIMIS, HACCP, and Hygiene preferred.
• Certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
• Solid comprehension of production schedules and laboratory testing.
• Understanding of quality improvement, efficiency increase, yield improvement, and elimination of out-of-specification or damaged products.

Work Environment

The Batch Operator will work within the Quality Department and Manufacturing area. This role involves operating in a high-stress/pressure environment and requires adherence to safety and sanitation protocols. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
