Position Summary:

As a Biomedical Technician, you will assist with warehouse functions, distribution, and biomedical equipment management, including the repair of beds and stretchers as needed.

Position Requirements:

Education:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Computer training and Hill Rom Technical repair certification

Experience:

• Experience with inventory control and distribution, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of electrical safety and equipment repair

Skills:

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and WordPerfect
• Strong mathematical and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Valid Tennessee driver's license; must be insurable

Physical Environment:

Work occurs in medical centers, hospitals, storerooms, and various off-site hospital departments.

Shift:

Monday - Friday, Afternoon: 1 PM - 9:30 PM

Physical Effort:

Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as walking, lifting packages of up to 50 pounds, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Functions:

• Restock clinical supply rooms according to par levels, rotate stock, prepare bar code charge labels, and maintain clean supply rooms.
• Manage and distribute patient-use equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
• Conduct regular inspections and apply proper cleaning techniques.
• Repair Hill Rom beds and stretchers.

• Ensure effective minor bed repairs
• Assist in medical supplies distribution
• Maintain accurate equipment inventory logs
• Facilitate patient equipment rentals and process patient charges
• Assist with vendor returns and repairs
• Utilize the Meditech Supply Chain System for job functions
• Contribute to department process improvement
