The Benefits Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and optimizing Boot Barn's health and wellness programs. This position emphasizes creating a welcoming atmosphere, motivating others, and proactively implementing beneficial initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee employee health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
- Conduct engaging benefit orientations and assist employees with enrollment, ensuring they make informed choices.
- Act as a liaison with insurance carriers, addressing administrative issues to maintain smooth operations.
- Support employees in updating their records in the Employee Self Service Portal, ensuring HRIS accuracy.
- Create and implement positive communications to promote participation and educate staff about benefit offerings.
- Monitor carrier and vendor performance, ensuring quality services and compliance.
- Manage Leave of Absence processes in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate wellness initiatives, making recommendations for program improvements.
- Administer Flexible Spending Accounts and prepare necessary reporting.
- Manage open enrollment processes, including planning, communication, and enrollment tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable benefit programs and regulations.
- Process monthly insurance billing and perform regular audits on retirement plans.
- Track employee eligibility under the Affordable Care Act and manage year-end reporting.
- Maintain high standards of work quality, attendance, and professionalism.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and company policies, performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication, customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably within a retail environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Current knowledge of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Experience in leave management.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and HR database systems.

PAY RANGE: $25.00 - $30.00/hr (compensation varies based on skills and experience)
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, and light lifting may be required during the work shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to communicate verbally and accurately complete documentation.
