FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Behavioral Health Support Specialist, where you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients dealing with behavioral health challenges. This position primarily involves managing the milieu in inpatient, emergency department, or ambulatory settings.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the care team to foster a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Continuously monitor and document patients' coping mechanisms, providing crisis intervention as needed.
• Contribute insights and recommendations to help the clinical team develop comprehensive care plans.
• Communicate any changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the care team promptly.
• Utilize established guidelines and instructions to perform job functions effectively.
• Exhibit critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED required; alternative competency tests may apply. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health-related field.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Life support and additional certifications as determined by position level.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of related behavioral health experience required (effective January 1, 2023).

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR required before start date, with certification valid for at least sixty days past hire.
