Beauty Shop Manager

Responsible for performing beautician services and the daily operations of the Beauty Shop.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining appointment records for all client services with special attention to dates that permanents are given to clients.
2. Overseeing the distribution of appointment information to each floor of the facility/community.
3. Providing satisfactory professional hair care services for patients/residents.
4. Effectively communicating with families and residents regarding hair care service and needs.
5. Promoting good public relations for facility while interacting with residents, partners and families.
6. Communicating with Administrator regarding all aspects of concern with the operation of the Beauty Shop and performance of beauticians/helper(s).
7. Assisting in hiring and termination processes, partner evaluations, and corrective actions.
8. Training, motivating, assigning and checking work of Beauty Salon staff.
9. Ensuring compliance with all State, Federal, and Medicare and Medicaid regulations for the successful operation of a nursing home Beauty Shop.
10. Ordering supplies within budget guidelines and maintaining accurate inventory records.
11. Recording and submitting daily sales records to Director/Manager.
12. Providing billing data to the Resident Finance Department on a weekly basis for Beauty Shop charges for residents of the Convalescent Center and Sparks Inn.
13. Providing assistance to physically and mentally handicapped residents, as needed.
14. Notifying appropriate staff of concerns regarding health condition of resident's hair/scalp.

Minimum education required: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of cosmetology.

Minimum experience required: Two (2) years' experience supervising operations of a nursing home or retirement center Beauty Salon.

Minimum licensure/certification required by law: Current and unrestricted Cosmetologist license in state of practice required. For Georgia, must be a Georgia Master Cosmetologist license.
