Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Bar Back at the Barrel House Bistro. The Bar Back assists our bartenders with cleaning, stocking, and other tasks and assists with beverage preparation and service and adheres to all established standards. Essential duties include stocking the bar, mixing and serving alcoholic beverages, assisting in cost control, inventory, and maintaining inventory records. The Bar Back also supports inventory control, communicates guest requests and concerns, performs opening and closing duties, handles checks and cash transactions, and assists with setup and breakdown of portable bars and other catered events. On occasion, the Bar Back serves meals to guests and incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance is required. The minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED and one to three months of related experience or training. Preferred experience includes previous working in a restaurant environment. The Bar Back should frequently stand, walk, talk, listen, and use hands, regularly reach with hands and arms, occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, taste, smell, and sit. The Bar Back should frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent is preferred. The Bar Back should demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor, be a strong team player and self-motivated, effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management, demonstrate a strong commitment to company values, maintain exceptional personal hygiene, and represent the organization positively to Troon employees, clients, and vendors. Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding is required. The Bar Back must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
