The Opportunity:

Responsible for daily operations of baler room by waste handling, loading trucks, etc. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

• Waste handling
• Loading of trucks
• Ensure balers are working properly
• Meet customer disposal requirements
• Recycle paper in Gaylord boxes taken to baler room
• Adoption and collection of materials, etc.
• Print and maintain BOL's and other paperwork as necessary
• Helping with other cutting department job duties as needed
• PPE must be worn while on your job. Safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets, beard nets, leather gloves and steel toe shoes, long pants (when banding), bump caps and gloves per glove policy.
• All safety policies and guidelines must be followed.
• Comply with safety participation program

What you need to succeed:

• Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler.) Tow motor certification. Lift truck certification and pallet jack operation. General mechanical aptitude.
• Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Cartons: Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
