Lube Technicians work in a fast-paced environment and are responsible for timely and accurate service to ensure our guests’ of quality workmanship. They perform Jiffy Lubes’ Signature Service Oil Change, maintain, inspect, and service cars and light trucks with a focus on our guests’ needs and expectations. This is an important job in our Jiffy Lube stores and critical to our success. And every J-Team member receives comprehensive training from Jiffy Lube University, our award-winning training program. We even offer Ace Accreditation of up to 32 college credits for completion and certification of Jiffy Lube University courses.

Training: Jiffy Lube offers a fantastic training program “Jiffy Lube University” a CBT (computer-based training) program designed to provide an investment in knowledge and skills to maintain the highest level of service. This is much like technical schools offer, but in addition to online training we also provide on-the-job training (hands-on) which provides for a more balanced skill set and “you’ll earn while learn”.

Qualifications

Previous experience is preferred with a minimum of 1-year working for a dealership, automotive shop, tire center, or quick lube. However, we will consider a strong candidate with some automotive experience or vo-tech training.

  Performing Jiffy Lubes’ Signature Service oil change

  Conducting 17-point Report On Condition visual safety inspection

  Servicing filters, light bulbs, wipers, tire rotations & other minor services

  Flush & fill coolant, transmission, power steering and other vital fluids

Once you’ve become certified, you will be eligible for advancement opportunities and training in other positions (Plus Tech-Mechanic, Service Advisor and Supervisor-Key Holder).

Physical Qualifications

Lube Technicians must expect to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces, like concrete or metal, and expect to work in an environment in which you may frequently experience hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.

  Must be able to operate equipment such as overhead and floor mounted oil and grease guns, transmission machine, air conditioner service machine, radiator service machine, hand tools and basic shop equipment

  Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 25 pounds

  Must be able to push, pull, lift, and bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, and turn head-neck-shoulders as needed
