Automotive Industry Design Engineer

DESIGN 1 ENGINEER (job description 2025)
We have partnered with a Global Automotive Research & Development Firm at their North American HQ to lead a search for their Design 1 Engineer role. Our client is a leader in Auto R&D and this role comes with a tremendous opportunity for growth.
• The Design Engineer's two core responsibilities will include the design (CAD/technical) and communications (project coordination).
• Design Engineers lead and drive the execution of new product development projects from Design through CAE, Prototyping, and Testing.
• You will be designing component parts and make 3D math data and 2D drawings.
• You will lead communications between the customer and the designers.
• You will assist in determining and meeting customer requirements, along with assessment of product performance, manufacturability, and cost management.
• You will set and achieve project objectives, kick-off, milestones, on-time completion and post-project effectiveness analyses.
EDUCATION

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• MUST HAVE CATIA experience and/or knowledge.
• Design Engineering Experience in the Automotive Industry through internships or work.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
• 1-2 years of related product design experience through internships or work.
