Associate Staff Scientist

Antibody Discovery Group Member

As part of the antibody discovery group, this individual will perform an essential role to support early-stage discovery programs by purification and qualification of antibody samples. They will be expected to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and record work in detailed electronic notebooks. Specific tasks include:

• Plan, perform, analyze, and document laboratory experiments
• Execute purification (mostly antibody) workflows with different platforms using a variety of chromatographic techniques
• Buffer exchange, quality control and characterization of purified samples
• Troubleshoot and optimize purification workflows to improve their efficiency
• Maintain laboratory instruments and supplies

Additional skills and qualifications:

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with antibody purification (protein purification is a MUST HAVE) and different characterization methods (SDS PAGE, CE-SDS, SEC, Western Blotting, etc.) required/nice-to-have.
• BS degree with 3 - 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of related experience. Some flexibility on experience level depending on person and type of experience
• BS or MS in Bio, BioChem, Chem (customer requirement) or related
• Experience with liquid handling automation or high-throughput purification automation preferred
• Experience with aseptic techniques for sterile protein purification is a plus
• Culture fit (soft skills): strong organization, communication, and Microsoft software skills. Flexible and enthusiastic in a fast-paced biotech. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Will collaborate with many different functional groups.

Experience level: intermediate level

Pay and benefits: the pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
