Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery (Thoracic Surgery)

The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is recruiting a faculty member to be a board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery. General thoracic surgeons applying for this position must have the skills and interest in general thoracic surgery, exclusively, with an interest and willingness to participate in lung transplantation. The position is part of our expanding Thoracic Surgery Division.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with all members of the Division of Thoracic Surgery within a multidisciplinary care context.
• Fulfill clinical, teaching, administrative, and research expectations. Additional roles and positions will be available commensurate with the growth of the program.
• Provide advanced thoracic surgery care with familiarity across minimally invasive approaches (including thoracoscopic, robotic, and uniportal platforms) for lung, mediastinal, esophageal, and chest wall operations.
• Lung transplant duties carried out predominantly at Keck Medical Center, with additional thoracic surgery duties requiring travel and coverage of other hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery or equivalent status if trained outside the United States.
• Advanced skills in thoracic surgery and lung transplantation; experience with minimally invasive techniques across supported platforms.
