AR Credit/Collections Specialist

Our client, a leader in the industrial equipment supplier industry, is seeking an Account Collections Specialist to join their team. As an Account Collections Specialist, you will be part of the Accounting Department supporting Financial operations, Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting of account receivables and for handling credit/collection matters in a professional and effective manner. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: AR Credit/Collections Specialist

Location: Vadnais Heights, MN

Pay Range: $30.00/hour

Position Type: Part-Time (25-30 hours), Contract with potential for hire

Shift: Daytime Hours, Flexible

What's the Job?

• Carries out the processing of all accounts receivable: Accurately apply incoming payments (check, ACH, wires and credit cards) to open invoices including payments denominated in foreign currency, Processes debit memos received, Process Credits/Debits for RAN(s) and miscellaneous items, Process Daily Sales Invoices, Reconcile discrepancies by collaborating with Sales, Customer Service and operations teams..
• Establishes credit for customers by adhering to accounting policies.
• Performs initial collections duties, Monitors all accounts for past-due status, Contacts customers for payment on past-due accounts, following a predetermined course of action and negotiating timing of payments within authorized limits..
• Updates Distributor’s Sales files for Warehouse Transfers, Weekly update sales invoices to warehouse transfers custom file, Weekly and monthly update of Distributor warehouse transfers custom file.
• Manage customer tax exempt certificates, Obtain tax exempt certificates for new customers, Monitor certificates on regular basis, request out of date certificates.

What's Needed?

• Two-year or four-year degree in accounting is preferred, and 2-3 years credit/collection experience is required.
• Experience in Account Collections.
