AR / AP Specialist

Vaco is seeking a skilled AP/AR Specialist to join a finance team and play a vital role in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for their real estate operations. The AP/AR Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring timely collections from tenants.
Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and utility bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and review payment batches for approval, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Generate and send invoices to tenants for rent, utilities, and other charges, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and initiate collection efforts as needed.
• Maintain tenant records and ensure accurate billing and payment application.
• Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to address tenant inquiries and resolve billing issues.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis as requested by management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related finance role, preferably in the real estate industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of property management software and online banking platforms is a plus.
