Allergy/Immunology Physician Assistant

The Wound Ostomy Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.

• Perform physical exams (within established wound or surgical protocol).

• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol wound or surgical guidelines).

• Order diagnostic tests.

• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).

• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

• Assist wound center providers with wound or surgical clinic procedures.

• Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.

• Make follow-up calls to check patient progress.

• Work closely with wound center nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.

• Assist wound center providers and inpatient wound nurse(s) with inpatient wound consults as well as see these patients independently.

• Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Master's degree in nursing or Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program

Required Licensure and Certifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner, Certificate of fitness through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Licensed as an RN in the state of TN, and Licensed as a CRNP in state of TN, required, or State PA License required
• AHA BLS required
