Ascension St. Vincent is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for our multi-specialty Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Radiology team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

• Weekend shift - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - with compensation incentive
• Work side by side with another APP
• Round on surgical inpatients, see new consults, discharge patients, order labs and testing, follow-up on lab and test results, answer nurse calls, some small bedside procedures.

Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunization and patient care.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. One or more of the following:
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s): Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Orthopedic Physician Assistant.
• Education: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Work Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
