Advanced Practice Professionals - WFHN Gastroenterology - High Point

Overview

Wake Forest Health Network Gastroenterology – High Point seeks a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a community-based practice in High Point, North Carolina. The APP will work with a collaborative team of gastroenterologists to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, IBD, liver disease, and colorectal cancer screening. This is an outpatient-focused role with strong administrative support and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 100% outpatient care model with 36 patient-facing hours and 4 administrative hours per week.
• Perform thorough examinations and evaluations in collaboration with the medical team to develop appropriate care plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures, preparation, and expected effects to patients.
• Utilize procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
• Participate in basic science and clinical research projects; precept students and/or medical learners when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the medical team to provide team-based care.
• Uphold institutional missions and cultural commitments.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program; master’s degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, NCCPA certification.
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) to start.
• Current DEA and DPS registrations for prescription writing to start.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner master’s program; master’s degree or higher required.
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) to start.
• Current DEA and DPS registrations for prescription writing to start.
